Brushing your pet’s teeth can help prevent the buildup of tartar on their teeth. Our nurses are able to discuss any issues regarding oral health and hygiene in the Nurses clinics.
However, sometimes if excessive plaque and tartar build up it is necessary to remove this in order to prevent further damage to your pet’s teeth and gums and alleviate any pain should any teeth need removal. This procedure is performed under general anaesthetic.
Signs of dental disease may include:
- bad breath,
- bleeding gums,
- pain when eating,
- pawing at the mouth,
- dis-colouration of the teeth
